Catie and Troy’s wedding day was nothing short of magical. The couple exchanged their vows at the Assumption of the Theotokos Greek Cathedral in Denver, Colorado, and continued the celebration at a country club nearby. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the ceremony was intimate and heartwarming including traditional Greek Orthodox rituals adding a unique touch to the occasion.
Afterwards, the party made their way to Mount Vernon Canyon Club which is a country club located just outside of Denver, Colorado. The country club is a wedding venue nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Mount Vernon Canyon Club is a gorgeous spot for a wedding as it is just 20 minutes west of Denver and encompasses breathtaking views.
Mount Vernon Canyon Club has a large deck that can house outdoor wedding ceremonies, receptions, or cocktail hours. From the deck you can see views of the mountains, canyons, and the city of Denver. Following the guests arrival, they were greeted by stunning panoramic views of the mountains, which served as a breathtaking backdrop for the festivities to come. Once cocktail hour concluded, the couple kicked off their reception with an Ouzo Greek toast.
Catie and Troy’s reception was held in the country club’s spacious ballroom, which had been beautifully decorated with soft, romantic lighting and simultaneously had modern, bright floral arrangements. In Catie and Troy’s design, we used the florals as the main focal point for colors. Traveling is a big part Catie and Troy’s relationship, so they wanted to incorporate it into their wedding. In leu of the guest book, the couple had guests sign postcards from all over and asked the guests to recommend a date idea, or an adventure for their next date night. Instead of table numbers, the couple named the tables to be destinations they have traveled to. The seating chart was a beautiful antique mirror, with postcards to show the guests where to sit.
The couple had dinner catered by the country club, then had toasts by family members and friends. Catie’s little brother Gus asked the Amara Collective team if he could give a toast. We double checked with the couple, and they were all on board for a speech from Catie’s younger brother. Let me tell you, this speech was a tear-jerker. Gus gave the speech of a lifetime as all of the guests, including the couple, were in tears. You might’ve seen his speech on The Today Show or CBS! We’ve linked it here for your enjoyment. It’s a good one.
The day was rainy; however, the couple didn’t let it stop them from having the wedding of their dreams. They took couples portraits in the rain and had the most beautiful day. Rain on your wedding day is a good thing, right? — we think so! The night ended with laughs, cigars overlooking Denver’s city lights, and dancing to live music.
