Italy-Inspired Wedding in Boulder, Colorado

There’s nothing quite like international travel to ignite the sparks of romance, but The MacPhersons proved that a destination wedding isn’t necessary for inspiration and an intimate, gorgeous wedding can be done in their backyard in Colorado. Emily and Jason chose to keep things local, having their remarkable Italy-inspired wedding in their friends backyard in Boulder, Colorado! With 16 rolling acres beneath the sky of Boulder, Colorado as a backdrop, Burning Sky Farm provided the perfect place for these special newlyweds to tie the knot – without being far from home. From neutral colors and white florals throughout every detail, the guests were left in awe. Whether you’re planning your own intimate affair or dreaming up ways to inspire your guests, your home sweet home can provide a stunning location to tie the know! Let’s dive into how this magical afternoon unfolded.

Emily and Jason’s storybook wedding took place at the awe-inspiring Burning Sky Farm. Burning Sky Farm is a spectacular 16-acre property designed for equestrian use, organic farming, events, and retreats. With two European styled stone barns, a pool, as well as a 3 bedroom house nestled this venue is just minutes away from Niwot, Longmont, and Boulder. The farm’s serene and picturesque setting provided the perfect backdrop for Emily and Jason’s big day.

The Ceremony

Surrounded by their lively bridal party and inside jokes shared with friends, Emily and Jason tied the knot on a floating dock laid across one of the property’s two stunning ponds. On the dock with the couple were their officiant, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and a beautiful floral arrangement that contained living and dried florals. The romantic feels of this ceremony truly made guests feel as though they were abroad. The unity ceremony was a unique reflection of their love for hockey as they took a shot on a shotski made out of a hockey stick. The ceremony was both witty and sentimental, leaving friends and family in tears and laughter.

The Party

After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed cocktail hour by walking around the property transporting in time to Italy. Meanwhile their guests shared drinks, appetizers, and played corn-hole. The reception was held under twinkling starlight, where BlackBelly Catering created a tantalizing burger bar that hit the spot. Dinner was simply magical as guests enjoyed a delicious meal with a view of the mountains that turned into a candlelit dinner under the stars.

As the night progressed, friends and family gave a series of touching toasts that showcased the couple’s outstanding character. The night culminated with a wild dance party lit by glow sticks that rocked the house down. Bride and groom jumped into the pool on the property as their ‘send-off’ followed by guests joining them. Emily even took the plunge in her wedding dress, which was nothing short of epic.
